30” x30" Acrylic on Canvas, With this painting, I wanted to capture a glimpse of what Cloverdale and the surrounding area used to be like. The Cloverdale area, historically has it's roots in rural farming. In contrast today, it is listed as the third most rapidly growing area in Canada. I purposely scouted out an area along the route that reflected little development in order to capture that rural feeling and take the viewer on a trip down the tracks of nostalgic feelings of how things used to be.
This piece won "Third Place" in the annual "Paint the Train" Competition put on by the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway with the Surrey and Langley Art societies.
