30”x15” oil on canvas. On Salt Spring Island St. Mary’s Lake is a quiet lake with limited boat traffic which makes it pleasant to watch and hear the wildlife. In the spring, one can often see goslings. The limited boat traffic is a blessing for the birds who desperately need quiet bird habitat areas in order to breed and survive in a time when bird populations are rapidly declining in North America.
