Reflecting on Water

16"x20" acrylic on canvas. This is part of a series of paintings I started working on back in 2008 when development started to encroach on the local waterways that I used to frequent with my family. Campbell Heights, located on the Surrey/Langley boarder, has in the last 25 years gone under extensive redevelopment including the elimination of acres of forest and extensive industrial development resulting in the threat to the salmon habitat of the Little Campbell River. My children have grown up and witnessed the profound changes on the landscape as the city succumbed to the pressure for industrial land.
